I know I'm late but I'm taking things at my own pace at the moment and will not be rushed, thank you! Lol! Anyway, our own Linda Ikeji, the most influential African blogger, turned 36 this week and shared a lovely message with her fans:
I turn a year older today September 19th and I can't tell you guys how grateful I am for the life I have. I may not have everything I want yet...but I have more than I thought was even possible and for that I am thankful. I am thankful for my family, friends, all LIB readers and well wishers.
My prayer as I turn 36 today is to find an amazing guy soon, settle down, have a bunch of kids and continue to live, impact my world and make a difference. Please say a prayer for me! I mean it! :-)
Also, happy birthday to every one else born today. May God continue to bless, love and protect us. Thank you guys so much for all the lovely birthday wishes that I know will come.
Massive hug and plenty kisses
L
I've always been forthcoming about my love for Linda, I really, really like her! Sure, she does a lot of things that are cringe-worthy, sometimes, but she is just human and is still trying to figure out life like all of us. Reading about her birthday on Bellanaija, the one thing that stuck out to me was how that some people held a lot of animosity towards her and accused her of ruining people's lives via defamatory stories she's put out about the said people on her blog. Well, she runs a gossip and news site and that is really what these sites ought to do in all fairness. When people say, "...much as I do not approve of her line of business/how she runs her business...", well, the business is what has made her who she is today which is successful and definitely not needing your approval.
The truth is, everybody, to an extent, likes gossip or stories but not everyone is thick skinned enough to actually write these juicy stories about people/celebrities that we all like to read. Someone's got to do the dirty job and be called the bad name. Besides, though I agree that being a celebrity should not mean that you automatically sign off your right to privacy, I still know that THAT (a non-existent private life) is a price you sometimes have to pay for being a celebrity and you really need to develop really tough, Kim-Kardashian-like hide if you are about that life. That or you become aggressively private like some of our celebs; Genevieve Nnaji and Onyeka Onwenu come to mind here.
Also, people need to take a lot of what they read about others online with a pinch of salt. Granted, there is no smoke without fire and a lot of times there would/could definitely be an iota of truth to these stories especially where its been a recurring subject matter but I prefer to still read with a pinch of salt, afterall, it could be me one day too, no? I would hope that in the day it could be myself in the news, that people would read with an objective mind and with a pinch of salt but either ways, I would also hope that my hide would be toughened enough to have me totally unaffected and unfazed by whatever onslaught ensues- good or bad.

I really loved that part of her message. In this day and age where we see single ladies knock needing a man and getting married, I find it refreshing to see her own this and just put this out there. I do not think this is desperate at all, it's just stating the facts; she's worked hard and has attained a lot of success and it would be beautiful to share this great life with an awesome amazing man and create a home with him! I pray that God grants her all of her heart's desires, I particularly pray for a man who ticks all the great boxes- Godfearing, Hardworking, Loyal and Faithful, Goodlooking, Confident and Secure, All round Great guy- to come her way and sweep her off her feet and into her matrimonial home.

I truly wish Linda the very best and most of all, I wish her Love so beautiful, she'll understand why she's had to go without it for a while.... the best was merely being reserved for her.
Live long and flourish, Motherland Mogul, continue to fly!!!
Love Always,

Yes I totally agree with you on the fact that she has achieved success and deserves a man to share her life with. We are humans and hence are wired to crave for companionship. At least she is not hiding her feelings. The best we can do is pray along with her in faith.
